Mr. Berhanu Fekadie

Berhanu Fikadie is currently serving as an Assistant Professor specializing in Public Health and Health Informatics at the Institute of Public Health within the University of Gondar. He has been a member of the faculty since 2015. Berhanu obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Gondar and completed his undergraduate studies at Jimma University.

With more than 9 years of experience in this field, Berhanu has established a solid foundation in both public health and health informatics. His areas of expertise include Health Information Systems and public health, and he previously held the position of head of the Department of Health Informatics.

Berhanu has successfully coordinated numerous projects that received funding from reputable organizations such as the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, WHO, JSI, and USAID. Currently, he is a team member of CDHI at the University of Gondar, where he actively contributes to digital health initiatives and participates in various national and global projects focused on digital health and health information systems, Health Data Quality, and Data Utilization. In particular, he serves as the Director of the CBMP+ project, which aims to advance Health Information Systems.

Berhanu has a foundation experience on implementation science and operational research. He led many implementations science research on HIS. He also coordinated and lead researchs on immunization. He has contributed to over 65+ peer-reviewed papers on topics such as digital health, Health Information Systems, mHealth, child and maternal health, data quality, and data utilization. Berhanu has collaborated with researchers from diverse disciplines and successfully managed multiple research projects from start to finish.
